As long as you or the recipient wears a size 50" pant or less you will be able to size this belt to your waist.
You simply cut the excess leather from the raw end of the strap that inserts into the buckle.
This way it fits YOUR exact waist, with no guessing. (see how)

I will never go back to the normal belt with holes because they tend to look worn as the holes get stretched out and they do not adjust with a simple click when my pants feel too loose. These belts are so amazing that I purchased 3 more for my adult boys as early Christmas gifts. Also, the packaging these belts come in is absolutely first class. I can't believe how much attention to detail these folks put into their products. And lastly their customer service is fantastic.
