Since all Anson straps fit pant sizes up to 50" (excluding Premier straps), you don't need to choose a size.
As long as you or the recipient wears a size 50" pant or less you will be able to size this belt to your waist.
You simply cut the excess leather from the raw end of the strap that inserts into the buckle.
This way it fits YOUR exact waist, with no guessing. (see how)

The perfect belt
I’ve been on a vigorous campaign to lose weight over the past year (down 70lbs), but I found my old trick of the hole punch was creating a ridiculously long tail. The Anson Belt & Bucket was the answer. I can trim them as I lose more weight without the wrap-around tail. It's really nice to be able to adjust your belt to the exact length that feels comfortable at any given moment. Eat a big meal? Adjust the belt to fit the bloat without dropping trou. Lose five pounds? Not a full notch in the old belt but the Anson will snug down for a perfect fit. The quality of these belts and buckles is superb. The hangers are an added plus for convenience. I've been wearing these belts for the last 4 or 5 years and will buy nothing else.
